Ian McDavid is a caring and client oriented criminal defense attorney. Ian works hard to ensure that his clients’s constitutional rights are protected and that they are treated with dignity and respect in the courtroom.
Ian values client centered representation; he listens to his clients and works to accomplish their goals of representation. He is a skilled negotiator but is not afraid to face prosecutors and police officers in trial.
Ian’s Background
Ian is a Colorado native, hailing from Manitou Springs, Colorado. He became interested in law at a young age when he competed at the national level in mock trial in high school. This interest in trial advocacy lead him to law school, where he developed a passion for criminal defense.
After law school, Ian took a position with the Office of the State Public Defender in Adams County, where he represented thousands of individuals charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanor, traffic and DUI offenses to serious felonies including white collar theft and attempted murder. Ian has completed over forty jury trials, and is always looking forward to the next one. Ian entered private practice in 2021, and enjoys being able to give each client the time they deserve.
Outside of the courtroom, Ian enjoys endurance sports and spending time in nature. He has climbed fifteen of Colorado’s fourteeners, completed the 213 mile John Muir Trail in 2020, and climbed Mt. Rainier in Washington State in 2022. His sights are set on higher peaks and longer trails in the years to come.
